Boston, Mass. – Feel like lending a paw? The Animal Rescue League of Boston and Boston Homeless Cats Group have the perfect solution for you. The feral cat communities of Boston are in need of some full bellies. If you have any extra, unopened cat food you don’t know what to do with or just feel like helping out, our feline friends would greatly appreciate your kindness. You can get a great deal at BJ’s Wholesale and gift cards are also welcome. Even the smallest members of our community need a little help, so stop by the Animal Rescue League of Boston’s South End branch to drop off any cat food items you may have and lend a paw.

Through innovative and accurate marketing, all-inclusive adoption programs, and information for both our adopters and staff, Kim and Stacey explained how these ideas can be used to get the dogs home faster. Although the presentation focused on “pit bull” dogs, all of the information and techniques can be used to help every animal in the League’s care. The ideas described by Kim and Stacey can also be implemented at low- or no-cost.

The presentation was a rousing success and we would like to thank Kim and Stacey for coming. We hope to not only “turbo charge” our pit bull adoptions, but all of our adoptions in general.

No animal, no matter how small, should be treated with cruelty or neglect. We are now seeking homes for these pocket-sized pals where they can receive the love and respect they deserve.

Hamsters make wonderful apartment pets and often become very comfortable with their owners. They’re also adorably cute – see these “Winter White” dwarf hamsters with their unique markings, carefully held by volunteer Dan.

The event, which raised $500 for the Animal Rescue League, attracted both yoga lovers and dog lovers to whom the Animal Rescue League is an important cause.

The Yogathon was put together in collaboration with three South End businesses — South End Yoga, the Animal Rescue League, and Katz and Dogz, a holistic animal massage practice run by Arnie Katz, who opened the class with a lesson on canine massage and relaxation.

Alan has worked at the League for 37 years and continues to be a true advocate for animals. As Director of the League’s Center for Animal Protection, he has saved countless animals’ lives. In 2007, Alan recieved the “Heroes Among Us Award” presented by the Boston Celtics. He also received the  Vartkes K. “VIC” Karaian Award in May of this past year for his work in supporting environmental health in the community.

We would like to congratulate Alan on this well-deserved honor and thank him for everything he does for animals in need!
