Pine Ridge Cemetery, located next to the League’s Dedham Shelter, is the oldest pet cemetery in the country that is owned and operated by an animal welfare agency. In addition to the present-day cemetery, Pine Ridge’s historical section contains burials dating back to the early 1900’s.
The cemetery is open for visiting 7 days a week from dawn to dusk. The office is open from Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 3:30 pm. We are closed on Sundays, Mondays and holidays.
Please note that, for emergencies, immediate assistance is available at the League’s Dedham Animal Care and Adoption Center.
Burials
Lots in the flat headstones section are sized at 36 by 18 inches and cost $650. Lots in the upright headstones section are sized at 40 by 24 inches and cost $1,000. A one-time perpetual care fee of $250 is applied to new purchases.
Burial markers are not included with the price of the lot; however, we would be happy to provide you with a list of monument companies familiar with our required dimensions.
We can also pick up your pet from your home or veterinarian for a $75 fee.

Cremations
Cremations are performed on-site and your pet’s ashes will be ready within 7 to 10 business days. Fees range from $140 to $200. All ashes are returned in pine boxes, with additional boxes available for $15, and engraved plaques for $10.
