Someone found a home for the holidays! Athena, the loving 1.5-year-old, one-eyed female dog, who was transferred to the Animal Rescue League of Boston from a shelter in Vermont, because they could not afford her eye surgery was adopted from our Brewster Adoption Center earlier this week!
Thanks to all of you we were able to provide a life changing laser eye procedure that saved Athena remaining eye and now this wonderful dog will be able to see the world around her as she settles into her new home!
We are beyond excited that Athena found her forever home in time for the holidays. Congrats Athena! Happy holidays to you Steve and David!

I was Athena’s Vermont foster MOM for a few months while she had her first surgery. It was sad at that time since they hoped that her cataracts could be repaired, only to find that she had to have her right eye removed and still had a torn retina in the left. She was shy and slightly fearful when I first started fostering her, but over time she turned into such a sweet dog. Of all the dogs I fostered she was the most difficult one not to adopt. Tonight I was thinking of her and knew she was transferred to Boston so I did a search for her to see if I could find out if she got adopted and was excited to have found her story. I was so happy to see that Athena has found her forever home!! And to see that it was in Breswter, Ma was also kind of amazing since I lived there for 5 years and know it well. It would be awesome to run into her and her family sometime when I am down there visiting. If you ever are in contact with her new owners, please express my gratitude that she has finally found her forever home. thanks for your good work for the animals. Kathy kwatts122@charter.net
