A an extra special “thank you” to Maggie, who visited our Boston Adoption Center on Thursday to drop off a donation for our shelter animals. This little girl raised $146.95 for the Animal Rescue League of Boston from her lemonade stand!
Maggie, who loves animals, came up with the idea all on her own, because she wants to help animals in need. Maggie’s lemonade stand was not your average stand. She went above and beyond and sold everything from lemonade, cider doughnuts (who doesn’t enjoy a cider doughnut in the fall?!) and milk & cookies to gluten-free scones. We are amazed by Maggie’s passion for animals with others and appreciate that she raised money for such a good cause. On Thursday, when Maggie came to visit the shelter, one of our staff members gave her and her family a tour of the Boston Adoption Center. After the tour Maggie spent some time playing with a few of the shelter cats, including Gary (pictured right), and according to her mom, she is “already plotting a way to get some cats.”
From all of our shelter animals here at the League, “thank you, Maggie!”
