On August 6, Boston Animal Control found this poor dog wandering around in the Neponset area of Dorchester. Stray and suffering from severe and painful mange, they brought her to their Roslindale facility to treat her painful skin, providing flea treatment and monitoring her condition. The staff at Boston Animal Control were so touched by her sweet personality, they asked the League for a helping hand.
Upon arriving at the League’s Boston shelter, the staffed named the pup Twix. Twix’s personality is so sweet that the name fit perfectly. Our staff are returning her affection with continuing to treat her skin condition with medication and giving her soothing, medicated baths.
Thankfully, her fur is beginning to grow back, her appetite is strong and she loves attending our morning canine playgroup. Twix has at least a three-month recovery period ahead of her, and we will continue to make sure she is comfortable and happy.

Beautiful dog. Who could have abandoned such a pup?
