“Even though every animal’s story doesn’t make the news, many of them come to our shelter requiring extensive & even emergency medical care. Take Lola for example… Lola, a 2 year-old female cat, was surrendered to the ARL in the beginning of August by her owner who was unable to care for her medical bills. On arrival, our staff noticed that she had a rubber band tightly wound around her right front paw. According to her owners, it had been there for 4 days. She was quickly seen by our shelter veterinarian & unfortunately for Lola, our medical team found that the blood flow to her paw had been compromised too long, & the limb could not be saved. Lola had her right front leg amputated & after 2 weeks of care, this sweet girl continues to recover, grow stronger, & learn how to manage on three legs at the ARL. She’s currently available for adoption & is looking for a forever home where she can continue to grow stronger & more confident. The Animal Rescue League of Boston operates solely on the generous donations of our supporters. So, in order for us to provide extensive medical treatment, such as that provided to our sweet little Lola, we rely on you! If you’d like to make a donation to help animals like Lola, please visit our website @ home.arlboston.org/donate. We can’t thank you enough!”
